Sacramental Preparation 2021/22

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION UPDATE - September 2021

Due to the postponement of Sacramental preparation in 2021 due to the global pandemic and lockdown, our current Y5 pupils have been prepared differently for their First Holy Communion .

The children completed their Sacramental preparation in school with their teachers in the Summer Term of Y4.

Families of Y5 pupils have received information from Father John outlining the plans for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion during the Autumn Term.

First Reconciliation Services will take place on Tuesday 21st September at St Stephen's Church.
Pupils will be split into two groups and two services will be held in the morning or afternoon that day.

First Holy Communion Masses will take place on Saturday 2nd October at St. Stephen's Church at 10am or 12pm.

Y5 pupils and families are expected to attend Mass each week in September as part of their preparation. Families can attend the 9.45am Mass at St Stephen's Church or the 11.30am Mass at St. Bridget's Church.

Please note:
** Our current Y4 pupils will begin their Sacramental preparation in the Spring Term this year **

Baptised Catholic children who are usually in Year 4 are prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

Preparation for these sacraments is delivered by our parish catechists and follows the Archdiocesan 'With You Always' Programme. Watch the DVD 'With You Always' explaining the changes in the Sacraments of Initiation.  The film follows one family's journey through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
